Sign reads: FIRE INSTRUCTIONS FOR STAFF: IF YOU DISCOVER A FIRE:

  • a) Ensure that no-one is in immediate danger.
  • b) Raise the alarm by surrounding the nearest fire alarm.
  • c) Attempt to tackle the fire with the correct appliances unless the fire is beyond obvious control.
  • d) If the fire is beyond control evacuate the building closing as many doors as possible.

IF YOU HEAR THE FIRE ALARM:

  • e) Staff should if necessary see that persons are evacuated from the building and roll can be taken.
  • f) A designated person should call the fire brigade in accordance with the relevant instructions. Ensure the fire brigade is called to every fire or suspected fire.
