Directa have sponsored the Encore Award for 'Gaffer of the year' since 1994.
GAFFER of the Year was the first of all the Encore awards to be introduced following a meeting between Dave Dennison (Chairman of Directa (UK) Ltd, - our sponsors) and the Encore editor Peter Foot in 1994.
It recognises the behind-the-scenes hard work and enthusiasm of our leading technical/stage managers throughout Britain.
It is voted for by Encore readers and in April 2006 the award for 2005 was made to:
